How it Works

Monitor your child’s progress & visit BML to receive a weekly prize!

Children who have completed the program will be entered into their age group’s drawing to win a $50 gift certificate. A bonus entry will be given to children who fill out the “Catch the Reading Bug” sheet with the titles of their favorite books read this summer.

Please bring the finished reading record in to confirm completion.

The drawing will take place on August 25.

Preschool & Kindergarten

Parents are asked to read to their children for 15 minutes a day, 5 days per week. Every time you read to your child, please add a sticker to their reading record. Stickers are color coded for each week. Weeks run Mon – Sun. There are extra stickers in the pack. Visit the library to receive a weekly prize.

Grades 1-4

Students read for 30 minutes a day, 5 days per week.

Children can add a sticker to their reading record for every 30-minute reading interval. Stickers are color coded for each week. Weeks run Mon – Sun. There are extra stickers in the pack. Visit the library to receive a weekly prize.

Grades 5-8

Students read for 45 minutes a day, 5 days per week. Children can add a sticker to their reading record for every 45-minute interval. Stickers are color coded for each week. Weeks run Mon – Sun. There are extra stickers in the pack. Visit the library to receive a weekly prize.

Minutes read by students K – 8 will count for BML’s Program & the Governor’s Summer Reading Challenge.
